Shaking Their Pom Poms for the Hospice
Hartlepool Hawks Cheerleading Academy raised a tremendous £3,879 for Alice House Hospice from a 12 hour tumble event which took place between 3pm and 3am on 20th September 2014
These are fabulous results, both their fundraising and competing in this gruelling challenge. It is wonderful that young people in our community support the Hospice.

Hartlepool Hawks Cheerleading Academy raised a tremendous £3,879 for Alice House Hospice from a 12 hour tumble event which took place between 3pm and 3am on 20th September 2014.
A group of 50 Hawks aged between 4 and 19 years took part in this challenging event, one of them was Hollie Mudd aged 9 who raised £340.
Hollie said, “My Grandad, who named me but never met me, spent the last week of his life in the Hospice before he died on New Year’s Eve, just five weeks before I was born.”
Hollie added, “My Grandma also has terminal cancer and would like to spend time at the Hospice before she dies. My Grandma is very proud that I go to cheerleading and shows all my photos to her nurses and carers. She does get scared through when she sees me high up in the air when I am stunting.”
Beckii Taylor, Head Coach/Chairperson for the Hawks said, “The Hospice has helped so many people and has touched so many different families. They are an amazing team of people and our team here at Hawks loved raising money to help this great charity continue their work.” She added, “Many of our own coaches, cheerleaders and their families have had their own personal experiences with the Hospice which has helped their loved ones through difficult times and they all feel very strongly about this cause.”
