Ladies did Lunch

Ladies from Hartlepool and the surrounding areas came out in force to show their support for Hartlepool & District Hospice at a Ladies Lunch event which raised over £5,000 for the local charity.

The ladies were treated to a beautiful lunch followed by a demonstration by Jill Green of House of Colour. Lorna Jones, daughter of Hospice Founder Alice Bendle, spoke about the Hospice and reflected on 35 years of Hospice care in Hartlepool. Tracy Woodall, CEO at the Hospice, then brought the group right up to with current services which are provided free of charge to the local community and why it is important for Hartlepool to have a Hospice.

“We were proud to be involved as a sponsor with an event that was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The Ladies’ Lunch will no doubt become a regular and popular fundraiser, as well as a chance to highlight the excellent work of everyone involved with Hartlepool & District Hospice.”

Carolyn Tilly

This brand new fundraising event was held at the Best Western Grand Hotel and was sponsored by TBI Law.  Further support was received from A Secret Garden Florist and Pretty Bows Wedding Event specialists, who provided the floral arrangements and room decoration.

Carolyn Tilly, partner with Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors, event sponsor, commented, “Here in Hartlepool we have a Hospice which has provided an excellent service to our town for 35 years, and with Lorna Jones, daughter of the founder, speaking at the lunch it was an opportunity to reflect on the past and to look to the future.

“We were proud to be involved as a sponsor with an event that was thoroughly enjoyed by all.  The Ladies’ Lunch will no doubt become a regular and popular fundraiser, as well as a chance to highlight the excellent work of everyone involved with Hartlepool & District Hospice.”

Hospice Corporate Fundraiser, Carol Sennett said, “It was wonderful to see so many ladies showing their support for our first Ladies Lunch, they have helped to raise an amazing amount of money!  I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended and supported this event in whatever way. A special thank you goes to Carolyn Tilly, not just for the sponsorship but also for her input and encouragement with the planning of the day.   I hope that all of our guests enjoyed their afternoon, and we hope that this will become a regular event in our fundraising programme.”
