McColl’s turns purple to support Hospice
The 10 branches of McColl’s stores in Hartlepool and Blackhall are backing Alice House Hospice as one of their nominated charities of the year.
The group of local shops have already got things off to a flying start with collection boxes, selling merchandise and other fundraising initiatives. Staff members from across the region are also in the process of taking part in a 14 mile sponsored walk as part of the Hospice’s annual Purple Week, which is the last week in March.
McColl’s Area Manager Michael Johnson said “To support such a worthwhile cause in Hartlepool is fantastic. It is a charity that has touched the hearts of so many of our colleagues and so many of our customers. At McColl’s one of our key values is to be ‘Community Champions’ and helping this cause fits closely with what we do and hopefully our efforts will help out this truly fantastic charity.”
Greg Hildreth, a fundraiser at Alice House said “The staff and customers of McColl’s have already shown wonderful generosity and support to Hospice patients and we are delighted that they have pledged to continue their support. Having met with several of the staff, I can see how warm and enthusiastic they are about helping. On behalf of everyone here, I would like to say a big thank to for all of their generosity.”
