Colour Run Returns to Seaton Carew
Alice House Fundraisers are planning to turn Seaton Carew into a sea of colour again on Saturday 21 July with their 4th Colour Run.
The colour run is over a course of approximately 5km and is a sponsored family fun run with a difference; participants will be blasted with multi-coloured, powdered paint as they make their way along the picturesque sea front route at Seaton Carew. This lively event is open to all ages and abilities and families are encouraged to come along and join in the fun. You don’t need to run, you can walk, jog or jump.
The run starts at the old Coach Park at Seaton Carew at 11am and to help get the party started a local DJ will be entertaining the crowds with lively music from 10am. There will be dancers performing a warm up with the colour runners, before everyone joins together to throw the contents of their paint packets into the air, to pour down on the crowd. Along the route there will be four paint stations where runners will be showered with more brightly coloured paint.
This year’s event has been sponsored by Fire 97 & Readhead Associates, Twenty3 Taxis, Specsavers, Hillcare and Utility Alliance, which means all events costs have been offset and all money raised by our colour runners will be used for patient care.
Janice Forbes, the Hospice’s Community Fundraiser commented “This is a fabulous, fun event which we really look forward to each year. It would lovely if we could have over 500 people taking part this year to make this the biggest and best colour run to date. I would like to say a huge thanks to our sponsors Fire 97 & Readhead Associates, Twenty3 Taxis, Specsavers, Hillcare and Utility Alliance, which means that all events costs have been covered and that all money raised will be used for patient care.
Elaine Readhead of Readhead Associates and Kevin Readhead of Fire97 said “It’s lovely to support such a fantastic charity which helps local people. We are really proud to have been involved in this event since it began and we hope everyone has a great time at the red paint station.
Registration which includes a white t-shirt, a packet of paint powder and refreshments is only £15 for adults, £10 for children and £40 for a family (2 adults and 2 children).”
