Could you be a prize winning Bright Spark?
After the success of the first Bright Sparks challenge, Alice House Hospice in conjunction with EDF Energy is launching their second Bright Sparks challenge in October this year.
The Bright Sparks £20 challenge which will run from October 2018 to February 2019 and is open to teams from schools, colleges or children’s groups such as Brownies, Scouts and sports groups.
“It’s wonderful to once again be given the opportunity to collaborate with Hospice patrons EDF on this project. The first challenge raised in excess of £2,500 for our patient care services and we are hoping that more teams will sign up this year, so we can exceed last year’s total.”
Janice Forbes, Community Fundraiser
The first challenge saw seven teams for local schools and colleges taking part to raise as much money as possible from an initial stake of £20.
Last year’s winners were Sacred Heart Primary School who raised a fantastic £667 from a simple idea of using their £20 to buy tubes of Pringles and then filling the empty tubes with change.
The challenge is a great opportunity the children to work with a local charity and has many benefits to for your organisation; creating fantastic team building opportunities, developing money management and budgeting skills and inspiring children to use their creativity.
After teams have registered they receive their £20 stake money and information leaflet. At the end of the challenge there is an award ceremony which will be held at the EDF Energy Visitor Centre.
Teams can win the following awards:
Bronze to teams making £100-£199
Silver to teams making £200-£249
Gold to teams making over £250.
The team that makes the most money will be awarded with the Bright Sparks EDF Energy/Alice House Hospice Trophy.
