Why I’m running the Santa Fun Run

Each year Alice House Hospice holds a Santa Fun Run near to Christmas as part of their festive calendar of fundraising events.

Registration is open for this year’s event which will be held on 2nd December at Ward Jackson Park, Hartlepool; Emma Golightly was the first person to register this year.

Emma is taking part with her partner Michael, son Lewis and his friend Eden.

Emma said “It was my son and his friend’s idea to do the Santa Fun Run after doing the Moonlight Memory Walk earlier in the year.  He really enjoyed it, even though I thought it might have been too much for him as he has ADHD, autistic traits & dyslexia. I use crutches so I won’t be able to run it but I will be able to walk it; it might take a while but it’s getting to the finish line that counts.”

Emma continued, “I also knew someone, my friend’s Dad, who was in the Hospice until he died earlier this year. The Hospice does a great job of helping and caring for people and their families and for all the other things they do. It’s great for all of us to get involved and help in any way we can”.

Why not join us on 2nd December?  Registration for the Santa Fun Run can be completed quickly and easily online at www.alicehousehospice.co.uk/SFR18 alternatively you can contact Janice Forbes on 01429 855555.
