Festive fundraising off to a great start
The first weekend in December was a great start to the Christmas period with Alice House holding their Christmas Fayre and hosting their annual Santa Fun Run.
"It was great to see everyone getting in the festive spirit."
Janice Forbes, Community Fundraiser
The Christmas Fayre which was held at Alice House Hospice on Saturday 1st December was a great success with lots of visitors of all ages who supported this event. There was a large range of stalls including cakes, sweets, knitted goods, gifts, teddy bears, Hospice merchandise, tombola, raffle, water or wine, guess the amount of sweets in the jar along with lovely homemade refreshments from the Hospice Bistro. Alice House Hospice’s mascot Alice Mouse was a great hit with both young and old alike who enjoyed posing for photographs with her.
Nicola Winwood a fundraiser at the Hospice “We raised a fantastic £2,200 which will make a real difference to patients and families who are needing hospice care and support especially at this time of year. We would like to thank everyone who came along to support the Hospice, those who volunteered their time to help out and others who contributed with raffle and tombola prizes. We are already looking forward to holding the event again next year.”
The following day was the Hospice’s annual Santa Fun Run we saw around 170 Santas and his little helpers running around Ward Jackson Park.
The event which was sponsored by O’Connor Roofing and Publicity Seekers is on target to raise over £5,000.
Janice Forbes, Community Fundraiser at the Hospice “It was another successful Santa Fun Run and we were honoured to have Hartlepool Boxing champion Savannah starting the race. It was great to see everyone getting in the festive spirit. I would like to thank everyone who supported the event”
