Ladybirds continue to support Alice House

Local ladies group Ladybirds have been regular fundraisers for Alice House Hospice since 2014.

I would like to thank the Ladybirds and all of their supporters, as well as wishing them a very happy Christmas.”

Janice Forbes, Community Fundraiser

The group formed in 2013 and meet every Wednesday. They have also supported Macmillan but decided to focus their fundraising efforts towards a local cause and nominated Alice House as their main charity.

During this short time, they have raised an incredible £8,000 for local Hospice care. In 2018 alone, the Ladybirds have generated £2,616 from a fundraising night in the summer and their recent Christmas Party Night, both of which took place in Hartlepool Cricket Club.  Previous fundraising activities have included coffee mornings and a fashion show which the ladies held in Matalan.

Ann Dixon, a member of Ladybirds said “The majority of the money raised comes from raffles and stand up bingo.  All the ladies are proud to support Alice House Hospice which helps local people.  I would like to thank everyone who supports our events and also a special thanks to Jeff Pounder from the Hartlepool Cricket Club for his good support.”

Janice Forbes, Community Fundraiser at the Hospice added “The Ladybirds are a lovely group and it is always a pleasure to meet up with them. They have raised an amazing amount in such a short time and all of this money will be used to fund Hospice care for local patients and their families. I would like to thank the Ladybirds and all of their supporters, as well as wishing them a very happy Christmas.”
