Co-op Funeralcare sponsoring new event, the Memory Stroll
Registrations are coming in for Alice House Hospice’s new fundraising event for 2019, the Memory Stroll, where people will walk in memory of a loved one.
The event takes place on Sunday 28th April at the Heugh Battery Museum and is sponsored by the Co-op Funeralcare who are corporate partners of the charity.
Each walker will receive a commemorative pin badge and card, as well as being offered free access to the Heugh Battery Museum, which is where the Memory Stroll with start and finish, following a circular route of approximately 2 miles along the seafront at the Headland.
As well as kindly sponsoring the event, staff from Co-op Funeralcare, based in Strathmore House in Hartlepool will be involved on the day. Some staff will be signing up to take part in the walk and others will be there to offer free advice on funeral plans.
Taking part are father and son Stephen and Daniel Laughton, who work together at Strathmore House.
Daniel said “I’m really looking forward to continuing our support of Alice House patients by taking part in the Memory Stroll, which we are really proud to be sponsoring. The fact that I will be taking part with my dad and other family also makes it more special and I’m sure it will give us an opportunity to reflect on times gone by and people who are no longer with us.”
The Memory Stroll is open to people of all ages priced at £7.50 for adults, £2.50 for U16s and free for under 5s.
Walkers are encouraged to raise sponsorship and sponsor packs will be provided.
