Memory Strolling …

Sunday 28th April saw a brand new event, The Memory Stroll, take place to raise funds for Alice House Hospice.

The Memory Stroll was a delightful walk along the sea front from the Heugh Gun Battery at the Headland and offered those who took part the chance to walk with friends and family and share their memories of loved ones. As part of the registration for the event everyone also received free admission to the Gun Battery Museum on the day.

“I took part in the Memory Stroll as a way of saying thank you to everyone at Alice House, even though that will never be enough, for the fantastic support they provided to Josie McCarroll during her end of life care at the Hospice. Josie and the family were treated with respect and dignity at all times by both the healthcare professionals and the volunteers of Alice House. Josie was very much loved by all her family & friends and was an inspiration to everyone she met. She is greatly missed but was a very strong person right up to the end and has left us with a lot of good memories.”

“This was a brand new event for 2019 and it was lovely to see everyone taking the time to walk together and remember their loved ones. The entry to the Gun Battery Museum was a bonus too! Thank you to everyone who took part and made this a great first event.”
