Team Sally and Kate Sirs joining up to help Hospice…

In December 2012, a car accident claimed the life of Sallyann (Sally) Holbrook and left her husband, Phil, with life threatening and life changing injuries.

Phil and Sally were both keen runners and supporters of Alice House Hospice for many years and when Phil had sufficiently recovered to be able to walk again he returned to running.

In 2014 Phil founded TeamSally which has seen 40 people complete the Great North Run in her memory and raise over £25,000 for Alice House Hospice.

After meeting Kate Sirs of Kate Sirs School of Music in Hartlepool and Director of Junior Parkrun at the weekly Hartlepool Parkrun, TeamSally will be running again in this Septembers Great North Run with Kate’s support.

Kate was keen to pledge her support to Team Sally and is in training for her first Great North Run, holding collections at her own events as well as collaborating with Phil to organise a young musicians/singers showcase event in aid of the Hospice on the afternoon of Thursday 8 August at the Fisherman’s Arms from 1pm-5pm.

There is also a music event on that evening at the same venue, featuring local favourites, Pek and Wanley, plus support, beginning at 7pm.

Tickets for both events will be available soon.
