Staff members went the extra (13) miles
Three members of Alice House staff took part in the Great North Run to raise funds for the charity. These were Healthcare Assistant, Rebecca Greenwell; Clinical Lead, Paula Tempest and Corporate Fundraiser, Greg Hildreth.
Rebecca took part in the run for the first time and said “It was an honour to take part in the Great North Run for Alice House Hospice because it is a team I am proud to be a part of. I felt overwhelmed by the support I received on the day from the spectators and would definitely do it again for this amazing charity.”
Paula who was running for the second time added “I work as part of an amazing team who do amazing work for the community of Hartlepool and surrounding areas; it is great to be able to support our services by taking part in an event as big as the Great North Run which we are so lucky to have on our doorstep. Thanks and congratulations to all our runners – I hope you had a great day!”
Greg who was running for the fourth time has worked on the Great North Run on behalf of Alice House since 2008 and has seen support grow for the event in that time; “One of the nicest parts of my job is to work on the Great North Run. It is a lovely feeling to welcome back our regular runners, as well as getting to know lots of new people every year. The number of Alice House runners has grown considerably in the last decade and we do our best to support them throughout their training and fundraising. It is a privilege to be involved in such a special event with so many great people.”
