Big Lime Triathlon – success again for David
Inspirational David Cranson took part in his fourth Hartlepool Big Lime Triathlon in August to raise funds for Alice House Hospice.
David, an army veteran who lost most of his sight as a result of a hereditary condition, was helped round the 750-meter swim by his guide Lesley Watson and around the 20K bike ride and 5K run by Howie Murray.
Each time he has taken part, David has kindly raised money for his local Hospice. This time he completed the triathlon in 02:19.31.
Howie Murray who only had one practice with David on the tandem bike, said he drew inspiration from David and one word that sums up the experience is “Humbling”. At one point on the course they got up to a speed of 4km.
Janice Forbes, Community Fundraiser at Alice House said, “It is always a pleasure to meet David. He bursts with enthusiasm and takes great pride in supporting the Hospice. He is an inspiration to us all”
