Help light up our Christmas tree in memory of your loved ones
For the past 19 years Alice House Hospice has been welcoming members of the public to its Light Up a Life Remembrance Service held each December.
Greg Hildreth from Alice House said, “With dark, cold nights and Christmas celebrations afoot, winter can be a difficult time without those we love around us. Light Up A Life is a service where we can come together to shine a light on those who are in our thoughts all year round, but who, especially at Christmastime, it is hard to be without.”
“During the service we will switch on our tree, which is illuminated by hundreds of lights, each one representing and dedicated to someone special and you will be invited to view the Remembrance Book which will be on display. Light up a Life welcomes anyone who wishes to remember their loved ones in this way, it is not exclusive to those who have been cared for by Alice House.”
People are invited to dedicate a light in return for a donation and will receive a Remembrance Card and a Light up a Life pin badge, which we hope will be worn in tribute to your loved ones.
Greg Hildreth, a fundraiser at Alice House said “Light up a Life is sponsored once again by regular supporters Victoria House Funeral Service who also attend and take part in the services. This is our longest running annual event and with its themes of remembrance and tribute, is a very poignant part of our annual calendar. It is also something that I hope helps to provide some comfort to those who have experienced bereavement. “
“I would like to thank our sponsors, Victoria House as well as both Churches for their fantastic support year after year. Thanks to both choirs for coming to perform at each service.
