Get Christmas off to a great start with a festive family favourite
Festive family favourite, the Santa Fun Run, sees people of all ages donning a Santa suit or hat on Sunday 1 December to make their way around a half mile Ward Jackson Park route. On completing the course adults will enjoy a mince pie whilst the children can wear their medal.
This year’s run is sponsored by Property Webmasters, Publicity Seekers, Readhead Associates and Fire 97.
Jamie Arthur, CEO of Property Webmasters said “We have supported Alice House Hospice for a number of years and experienced the inspiring service they offer first hand through friends and family. We are incredibly proud to be able to contribute, helping a cause that gives dignity and support to people at some of the most difficult times. It’s so important to us at Property Webmasters as we continue to grow as a business, to also help and support Alice House Hospice in any way we can as they continue their fantastic work in our local area.”
Samantha Lee, Managing Director of Publicity Seekers, said: “We had a lot of fun sponsoring and taking part in the event last year and we are looking forward to it once again. It was a great event, lots of families taking part with all generations and even plenty of dogs. We will all be taking part once again and we hope everyone turns out in force to support this. It’s not Christmas until you’ve seen a few hundred people running round Ward Jackson Park dressed as Santa. The disco warm-up was great too. See you all there!”
Kevin and Elaine Readhead of Readhead Associates and Fire 97 also sent their best wishes for the event and expressed how happy they were to be supporting Hospice patients and their families.
The Santa Fun Run is now in its 12th year and has raised nearly £50,000 – Greg Hildreth from Alice House said “A huge part of our income comes from business support which helps to pay for the running costs of events so that as much of the money raised by the public goes to patient care. I’, sure this year we’ll see another busy turnout at the Santa Fun Run, which is a great way to start December and I would like to say a huge thank you to all of our generous sponsors.”
As well as the run there will be festive music from DJ Gavin Lancaster of Higham Discos and festive stalls in The Place in the Park.
