Every Pound Counts

The global coronavirus pandemic is a challenging time for everyone and particularly for charities whose main source of income has been paused.

Tracy Woodall, Chief Executive of Alice House Hospice said, “ We are extremely grateful for the financial support offered by the Government to hospices and we hope to receive approximately £390k between April and June.

Whilst this is a great support it still only covers 60% of the loss of income we are facing. In addition, our front line costs are increasing due to the care we are giving to support the NHS patients.”

Tracy continued, “We are overwhelmed by the public’s generosity at this time and all the amazing fundraising that is happening, we have seen people shaving their hair, running marathons in a month, taking part in virtual quizzes and making donations!”

There are lots of new ways to support Alice House, all of which can be done either within your own home or within the daily exercise guidelines from the Government.

Alice House Hospice needs your support now more than ever, so keep an eye on our social media pages and website for ways to get involved, or sign up for email updates.

Alice House Hospice has had to close all of its 10 charity shops, which combined raise a whopping £15,000 each week, alongside having to put fundraising events on hold. The impact on income has been massive.
