Susan Porter, beautiful inside and out.

When Susan was taken into hospital with Covid19 she was really poorly.

All her friends, old and new, from Monsoon Accessorize arranged a collection to send Susan and her partner Neil away for a weekend.  Any money left over Susan wanted to donate to a charity of her choice, but unfortunately Susan never came out of hospital and died on 1st May 2020.

Her friends from Monsoon Accessorize describe Susan as beautiful lady inside and out.  “She is somebody that once you met her you couldn’t possibly forget her.  She always brought laughter and humour to any event.  There was never a dull moment in Durham Monsoon, when you called the store to speak to Susan, you would hear her laugh before she even got close to the phone.”

“Susan was caring with a huge heart.  She had so much love for her team and colleagues, she was always there to help and support in any way she could, even if it was just to give you a famous Susan squeeze or to brighten your day with a song!”

Neil and her friends knew that Alice House Hospice was close to her heart. Susan often spoke of the love and care that was given to her mum and family when she was looked after by the Hospice in 2017, so knew that it would be Susan’s wishes to donate any money raised to the Hospice.

Rebecca Jobson, Senior Manager Communications at Alice House said, “I would like to offer my sincere condoldences to Susan’s family and friends and thank them for thinking of Alice House at what must be an extremely difficult time.”

To date £570 has been donated in Susan’s memory from her colleagues at Monsoon Accessorize and from her neighbours at Calley Close.
