Activity packs for our patients to help fill their time!
Leanne Barker arranges activity packs for inpatients at Alice House in memory of her late mam, Ruth.
Leanne's mam, Ruth was a patient at Alice House's Day Hospice before she died in 2020 and her Wednesday's at the Holistic Wellbeing Centre were the highlight of her week.
Leanne said, “Mam made many friends and realised that there was life after diagnosis. Wednesdays were the highlight of her week, chats, gorgeous home cooked meals and even head massages.”
Leanne wanted to do something to help the patients whilst they are unable to have visitors due to the Covid-19 pandemic. She and partner, Mark who works for SRL Traffic Systems arranged a donation of activity bags each containing a range of colouring & activity books and games.
There will be an activity pack for each patient across the Inpatient Unit and the Long Term Care Unit.
Cheryl Dignen from Alice House said, “I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Leanne and her family, the activity boxes will bring lots of joy to our patients especially in the current times. It really does mean so much and I know Leanne’s mam Ruth would be so proud of her. Thanks also go to SRL Traffic Systems who funded the items in the packs.”
