Will Making raises over £5,500 for Alice House

Tilly Bailey & Irvine Law Firm in Hartlepool took part in the Make A Will Month initiative for Alice House Hospice and raised a fantastic £5,727

During Make A Will Month, TBI created wills throughout October 2022 for clients who instead of paying a fee, donated to the Hospice, all of which added up to the fundraising total.

Nicola Winwood, the Hospice’s In Memory Fundraiser visited staff at their York Road premises and presented Shelley Hissett, Michelle Hendy, and Hannah Roberts from their Wills, Trusts, and Probate department with a fundraising certificate and thanked them for their support.

Shelley Hissett, a Solicitor within the department commented, “Having the opportunity to help such a fantastic charity, whilst also helping members of the community prepare a Will is something I find very rewarding. It was a pleasure to be involved.”

Carolyn Tilly, Managing Partner, added, “We’re proud to be a firm that supports local charities and it’s fantastic to be able to help our local communities. Having a Will is vital for securing your family’s future, so being able to assist people in preparing the Wills, whilst also helping Alice House Hospice is something we, as a firm, can be extremely proud of. Alice House Hospice are a wonderful charity and carry out such important work, so it’s a privilege to be able to help them in any way we can.”

Nicola Winwood said, “This is a wonderful amount to have been raised, especially in just one month. All of the money will be used to support our patients and their families – on behalf of everyone at Alice House, we would like to express our appreciation to Tilly Bailey & Irvine, as well as their clients for their kindness.”

Alice House Hospice provides care and support to people affected by life limiting illness or the death of a loved one in Hartlepool, Tees Valley and East Durham. It costs over £3.5m to fund these services for one year. The Hospice receives just less than 21% of this in Government funding, leaving a shortfall of just under £8,000 to be raised every single day.
