Appeal For Shop Volunteers
Alice House Hospice is appealing to the community in a volunteer drive to help support their charity shops.
The Hospice has nine retail shops throughout Hartlepool and East Durham, selling donated goods and staffed by kind-hearted volunteers who give their time to support the charity. The shops play a vital part in delivering the services provided by the Hospice, with all sales proceeds being used to deliver care and support to local patients and families.
The shops are significantly low on volunteers and need help to ensure their work can continue.
Retail Senior Manager, Karen Witherley said “Our shops are heavily used in and around Hartlepool and are a crucial source of income to the Hospice. Our volunteer numbers have dropped and our existing team are stretched to the limit; without enough staff, we are working under pressure.
“The Retail Volunteers need help with organising donations, dressing shop windows and looking after our customers. Our nine shops are open six days a week and we would love to hear from anyone who can commit to giving a few hours of their time each week to help out.
“If you can help to support local families by donating your time, please get in touch.”
