Young Farmers Reap Fundraising Success for local Hospice
Community Group, Elwick & District Young Farmers nominated Alice House Hospice as their Charity of the Year for 2024 and raised an incredible £1,522 for its patient care services.
The kind-hearted young people raised this money from various activities, including carol singing around local farms.
The Hospice’s Community Fundraiser Janice Forbes was invited to one of the group’s weekly meetings – which take place on Tuesdays at Elwick Village Hall – and delivered a talk on the work of the Hospice, before being presented with a cheque for the funds raised.
Emma Sanderson who is Treasurer of Elwick & District Young Farmers said, “We chose Alice House Hospice as we like to support a local charity and it was a charity that members had a connection, with friends and family using the Hospice.”
Janice added, “I really enjoyed attending the meeting and it was wonderful to receive such a large donation towards Hospice care; I would also like to thank everyone involved and congratulate them on their fundraising success, which will make a real difference to local families this Christmas.”
