NHS England and NHS Improvement guidance states that compliance to the new National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness is mandatory by April 2022 for all settings, including acute hospitals, mental health, primary care, dental care, ambulance trusts, GP surgeries, clinics and care homes, regardless of the way cleaning services are provided.
