Founder and CEO of local charity, The PFC Trust, Frances Connolly visited Alice House Hospice to meet staff and discuss the current challenges they are facing because of the cost of living crisis and soaring energy bills.
Lucky staff members from Hartlepool workplaces could win an extra day off as part of a new fundraiser in partnership between Alice House Hospice and local businesses.
The new Win a Duvet Day campaign is sponsored by Direct Beds Hartlepool and is a prize draw taking place throughout February, with one winner from each place of work receiving an extra day’s holiday.
A fundraising event raised around £11,000 for Alice House Hospice and organisers are planning a follow up event for next year.
The Alice House Party was a sold-out charity dinner at Wynyard Hall in October with around 200 guests in attendance.
On Sunday 11th September, 38 runners will take part in the Great North Run in aid of Alice House Hospice with the aim of raising around £20,000 for hospice care.

A newly formed group of Hartlepool-based business leaders is working with Alice House Hospice to organise what promises to be the charity’s biggest fundraising dinner in years.
The Alice House Celebration Committee consists of Simon Corbett (CEO at Orangebox Training Solutions), Jamie Arthur (CEO of Property Webmasters), Paul Fraser (MD of Rephrase PR Media Services) and Gary Riches (Assistant Principal at Hartlepool College).
Regular supporters of Alice House Hospice, Tilly Bailey & Irvine Law Firm are once again supporting the local charity’s Make a Will Month campaign.
Throughout September people are invited to make an appointment to write a will and Tilly Bailey & Irvine will waive their usual fees in exchange for a suggested donation towards Alice House.
Planning for the annual Hootenanny & Beer Fest at Hartlepool Rugby Club is well underway.
The event raises funds for Alice House Hospice, who are charity partners of Hartlepool Rugby Club, and takes place at the the club’s home of Mayfield Park, Easington Road, Hartlepool on Bank Holiday Sunday, 28 August.

A massive thank you to long standing supporters, The Teesside Charity, who have awarded Alice House Hospice a further generous grant of £2,000 towards our service costs.
Five local businesses have pledged their support to Alice House Hospice’s annual Colour Fun Run which is taking place on Sunday 7 July at West Hartlepool Rugby Club.
TT Electronics, Merlin Flex, Millers Homes, Freers Askew & Bunting Solicitors join regular Hospice supporters Specsavers. The run which is now in its 7th year is open to all ages and abilities; participants will be showered with multi coloured powdered paint along the 3K course.
Alice House Fundraisers are marking the Queen's Platinum Jubilee by hosting a themed Afternoon Tea and Fashion Show
The event is being held at Hardwicke Hall Manor Hotel, Hartlepool on Thursday 9th June 1-4pm. Guests will start the afternoon at 1pm with a drinks reception and boutique shopping from some lovely stalls selling a range of items including clothing, handmade goods, jewellery, accessories and much more. There will also be a tombola and raffle with some great prizes to be won.
