Keepsake/Memory Bears

Local lady Carol Phillips makes these gorgeous Keepsake Bears (made from a special item of clothing) for Alice House supporters.

Carol is making bears for people, using a special item of clothing or fabric that is important to them, in return for a donation to Alice House. The bears can be to help remember a special person or time and could be given as a beautiful gift.

The Bears have proved very popular and we have had a fantastic response so far; Carol has already raised over £2,000 (Dec 2019).

Carol said “I am so pleased to be supporting the Hospice and I just love making these special bears.”

Recent recipients of some of the bears said:

“I’m just wanting to thank you / your lovely bear maker lady for giving my family so much pleasure.  I intended to keep the bears for Christmas presents but after seeing the cold winter night tonight decided to take a bear to my mother in law, in the hope she would feel some comfort from him.  She was truly so pleased and cuddled & kissed him our hearts melted. I think she’ll get so much comfort from having “Kev” with her.  We gave my son and daughter theirs tonight – they too loved him.”

“A truly lovely gift, it has given my mam and family so much comfort knowing part of our dad is with us forever many thanks.”

“A big thank you from me too I now have a part of my dad sitting on my bed.”
