Alice House Hospice offer a wide range of services that support its local community and professionals.
These Services Include:
The Inpatient Unit offers Symptom management and End of Life Care. The Service is Consultant led and have a large Multi-Disciplinary Team in place to provide excellent specialist care.
Day Hospice which provides specialist support and symptom management for patients, including blood transfusions and intravenous therapies such as treatment for hypercalcemia. Day Hospice also provides psychological support for patients and delivers individualised, holistic care to all.
The Hospice Helpline is accessible to professionals and the public. Patients and families can contact the Hospice Helpline 24/7 where advice, support and signposting is available. Any professional can also contact the helpline for advice and guidance. The helpline is manned by Hospice Doctors and Registered Nurses. The Helpline number is 01429 855558.
Therapeutic Support Services offer counselling for bereavement and anticipatory grief for young people and children. There is also the Jo & Mya programme which reaches out to schools to support professionals with children who are grieving. We also offer family support with the Sue Stephenson Project and the Keystone Project.
The Complementary Therapy service at Alice House Hospice offers a gentle therapeutic intervention which can be accessed by Hospice patients, Day Care patients, Outpatients and the local community. Whether referred by a medical professional and given alongside conventional medication, to help symptom management or by self-referral and to simply promote relaxation and an increased sense of wellbeing, treatments are tailored to the individual and aimed to offer the maximum benefit to the patients’ health and happiness. Therapies offered include Aromatherapy, Reflexology and various different types of Massage. Some Beauty Therapies are also available.
