Every September Rob hosts the competition which includes a round of golf, dinner, raffle, auction and prize giving. His guests largely comprise business people from the North East and sometimes further afield. Notable entrants in the tournament have included professional golfer Graeme Storm and ex-footballer Graham Kavanagh.

Rob works closely with the Hospice, utilising the support of his network of friends, contacts and business links to ensure that the day is a sell-out year after year, as well as sourcing corporate sponsors and prizes. He also gives the day a unique sense of fun with new features being introduced each year including additional spot prizes, hospitality and surprises for the players.

2015’s event set a record for the day, generating in the region of £30,000 for Hospice care.
