Although I have pain in my spine, I was also getting severe pain in my right flank and between my ribs and I was finding it debilitating. I was unable to walk upright, constantly in pain and worrying for the future, “Is this how it’s going to be?”

The pain was beginning to affect me, both physically and mentally; all the doctor could do was give me pain killers and only for a short time, due to their strength.

It was my wife who suggested that I give Reiki Therapy a go, as she had used it in the past. What did I have to lose?

I turned up at the Holistic Wellbeing Centre and met the lovely Barbara and off we went to her treatment room. I lay on the bed, Barbara started to work her magic and I immediately started to relax.

My spine which was bowed upwards/inwards, slowly started to flatten out and I noticed a difference in my pain level even as I lay there!

At the end of the session, I left, drove home and on entering the living room my wife exclaimed, “You look so much better!” I explained what had happened in the session and she said that the grey face that I had had was now gaining colour, I was standing much more upright and I looked happier.

To be honest, I’ve not looked back and have now had 4 sessions with each one better than the last!

I walked in feeling a big ‘twinge’ of pain and walked out almost pain free.

Yes, the pain does come back, however it’s not as bad as it was, which I’m thankful for.

I have since spoken to my doctor who ‘feels’ that if it works carry on! It was also suggested that I could have a trapped nerve which the Reiki Therapy may have ‘untrapped’ a little. As I mentioned, I do still have pain, just not as much.
