Colourful sponsors for Alice House

A number of businesses have come forward with support for Alice House Hospice's biggest summer events.

The Colour Run takes place at Seaton Carew on 23 July and raises vital funds for patients and their families who are cared for at Alice House.

The family fun run includes four points on the (almost) 5K route, from which participants will be pelted with colourful powdered paint as they run along the sea front.

The Colour Run is open to all ages and abilities; everyone will receive a white t-shirt, packet of powdered paint and bottle of water. Before setting off, there will be a fun dance warm-up provided by Karen Liddle’s School of Dance and music from Higham Discos, who are one of the sponsors.

Additionally, the event has been kindly sponsored by Exwold Technology, NETA Training Group, Merlin Flex, and Specsavers.

Hospice Fundraiser Gil Parker who is working on the event said “With the support of these fantastic organisations, we are able to cover the running costs of this event, ensuring that all of the money raised by runners goes directly towards funding local Hospice care. We are looking forward to the day and hope that as many people as possible can join us at Hartlepool’s most colourful event.”

Registration costs are as follows, with under 5s being free: Adults: £15, Children (16 and under): £10 and a family ticket is £40 (2 Adults, 2 Children). Sponsorship for runners is not essential but encouraged.

Here’s what the sponsors had to say:

“Merlin Flex are pleased to be supporting Alice House Hospice again for their annual Colour Run. We all know that Alice House carry out an excellent role in caring for people in the area, which more often includes close family, friends or at least someone we know, and by supporting this event shows our appreciation to all of their great staff the incredible job they do. This is a great fun event and the team at Merlin Flex look forward to seeing as many people there on the day.”

Mark Merifield, Merlin Flex

“Exwold Technology are delighted to once again support the Alice House Colour Run. This is a great, fun event for everyone taking part whilst helping a very important cause. The Hospice is a fantastic asset for the community but needs ongoing funds to ensure it can continue to carry out the wonderful work it does. Good luck to all runners!”

Kevin Martin, Exwold Technology Ltd.

“NETA is delighted to be supporting Alice House with their annual Colour Run event.  All of the team at NETA recognises how vital the services provided by Alice House Hospice are and we’re proud to play a part in supporting them in all they do to make the lives of their patients and families easier at the most difficult time in their lives.”

Sian Cameron, NETA Training Group

“I’ve always helped out when I can, donated when I can but I’ve always wanted to do more for the Hospice so I couldn’t think of anything more appropriate or better than sponsoring the purple colour station at this year’s Colour Run.”
