Greatham Primary School recycling their way to fundraising success

As part of their ongoing efforts to help the environment, Greatham Primary School has signed up to be part of a new Terracycle campaign.

The school was approved to be a ‘Bic Community Champion’ and operate as a public drop off and collection point for recycling used pens for Hartlepool and surrounding areas.

Lions walking for Alice House again

Tommy Miller of Peterlee and District Lions is organising the group’s sixth sponsored walk in aid of Alice House Hospice.

The walk of approximately three miles along a circular route takes place on Sunday 28 April around Castle Eden Dene, starting and finishing at the Hearts of Oak Pub, Peterlee.  Registration opens at 9.30am and the walk starts at 10am.

Local solicitors support Alice House Hospice with Make a Will Month

This May, two local law firms - Tilly Bailey & Irvine Law and TMJ Legal Services - are supporting Alice House Hospice by offering free appointments to anyone wishing to make a Will.

Throughout May you can make an appointment to write your Will with one of our partner solicitors, who will kindly waive their usual will writing fees in exchange for a donation made to Alice House Hospice.

Introducing “The Memory Stroll”, a new event for 2019

The Hartlepool branch of Co-op Funeralcare, based in Strathmore House have pledged their support to a new event in aid of local Hospice care.

The Memory Stroll, organised by and in aid of Alice House Hospice is a peaceful Sunday morning stroll along Hartlepool’s historic Headland on 28 April, starting and ending at the Heugh Battery Museum.

Liam Gough Memorial Night a huge success again

Local man John Gough and his family including partner Ann Bates are celebrating another successful year of fundraising for Alice House Hospice in memory of John’s late brother and sister, Liam Gough and Angela O’Hara.

The annual Liam Gough memorial night, which also pays tribute to Angela is held every November in Hartlepool’s Rovers Quoit Club and has now raised around £24,000 to support local Hospice patients and their families.

Annual Light up a Life memorial service dates announced

This year's dates for our annual Light up a Life memorial services have been announced.

The campaign, which is sponsored by Victoria House Funeral Services invites you to make a dedication in tribute to someone; those taking part will receive a badge to wear and a card which displays the names of those they are remembering.

Grab your Alice House Calendar now…

Our 2019 fundraising calendar is now available and the photographs featured within have all been kindly donated by local photographer Ashley Foster.

Ashley was approached by the charity after his popular photos had been seen on social media and local press and news.  Ashley was pleased to get involved and support his local Hospice by donating a selection of photos of scenes from in and around Hartlepool to fill the new calendar. 

Santa Fun Run off to a flying start

Alice House Hospice’s annual Santa Fun Run is off to a flying start with pledges of support from the local business community.

O’Connor Roofing Services and Publicity Seekers have both signed up to become official event sponsors of the festive fun run which is due to take place on 2 December in Ward Jackson Park.

High Tunstall’s Hawking House supports Alice House Hospice

Alice House Hospice staff were recently invited to High Tunstall College of Science to meet with pupils and staff and celebrate having been nominated as Hawking House’s nominated charity.

Hawking House students opted to name the local charity as their chosen cause.  The House will support and fundraise for Alice House over the academic year ahead.
