The Sue Stephenson Project

The Sue Stephenson Project is available to Children and Young People and their families where a main adult caregiver in the family has a chronic/debilitating long term physical health condition.

These health conditions might include, but are not limited to: All types of Cancer Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Multiple Sclerosis (MS) All types of Heart Failure

What we can provide …

The Project involves Therapeutic Group work for children and young people which is:

  • Delivered over a 6 week period
  • Interactive and Creative
  • Supporting, Safe and Confidential

Facilitated by experienced Counsellors, our programme promotes positive ways of managing the impact of long-term illness within a family.

One to One Counselling

We recognise that not everyone would feel comfortable in a group environment and in such instances we could provide short term one to one counselling.

Family Counselling and Support

We can work with families to provide therapeutic support and guidance in a safe and confidential environment.

Where is it?

The Sue Stephenson Project will take place within the dedicated Children’s Room at Alice House Hospice

Referring to the Project

Referral can be made by a GP, Teacher or other Health or Social Care Professional/Agency involved with the family.
