Celebrating our volunteers

Each year from the 1st-7th June is Volunteers Week, when organisations across the country celebrate the amazing contribution volunteers make.  This campaign was established in 1984 by Volunteering England which has since merged with NCVO, now the lead for the national campaign.

Summer fundraising schedule well underway

Alice House’s busy summer events season is now well underway, with the popular Dogs’ Big Day Out and Summer Fayre events having both taken place already as well as a Royal Ascot Race Day.

Next up is the Colour Run on 21 July in which participants will be blasted with multi-coloured powdered paint along the route at Seaton Carew, which is just short of 5k.

Horden Charity Shop set to return

Alice House Hospice are set to reopen their Horden based Charity Shop which was ravaged by fire last year. 

Builder donates cash to support Alice House Hospice

Leading builder Persimmon Homes Durham has donated £1,000 to Alice House Hospice.

The cash has been donated through the Community Champions fund, which sees Persimmon Homes Durham donate a pot of £2,000 each month to share between two worthy causes to match their fundraising activities. This is the fourth time in 18 months that Alice House Hospice has been lucky enough to be awarded part of the fund.
