A local lady has completed the first of two running challenges in aid of Alice House Hospice and raised in the region of £800 for patient care so far.
Debbie Wise from Hartlepool has been running for just a few years and after completing her first Great North Run in 2016 decided to push herself with an even bigger test of endurance. Debbie applied for the 2018 London Marathon, initially not expecting to receive a place but was both nervous and exited when she received a notification that her application had been successful.
Staff at Alice House Hospice are delighted to introduce their new mascot, Alice Mouse.
As the newest member of the Fundraising Team, Alice will be attending fundraising events and generally supporting the work of the team, so keep your eyes peeled!
On Saturday 19th May Alice House Hospice is taking part in an open Dying Matters event at Blue House Woodlands Natural Burial Site from 11am – 3pm. Entry to the event is free.
In 2009, the National Council for Palliative Care (NCPC) set up the Dying Matters Coalition to promote public awareness of dying, death and bereavement.
Hartlepool Ukulele Group (HUG) recently presented Alice House Hospice with a cheque for £1,500.
The group, who currently have 25 members, play at old people homes and clubs around Hartlepool; they never charge for their performances but do ask for donations for the Hospice.
Alice House Hospice has received £1,000 donation to purchase a syringe driver from kind hearted quizzers at Hartlepool Indoor Bowls Club.
