New ‘magic table’ to help patients with dementia

Alice House Hospice provides lots of activities to help manage patient’s conditions as well help them to relax and relieve stress and tension.

Whilst many patients derive much benefit, those suffering from dementia are often very passive and withdrawn. Hens are making friends

Alice House Hospice introduced their 4 Henpower Hens, Martha, Henny Penny, Paxo and Tufty Belle, in October this year and they have spent the last few weeks making friends with patients at the Hospice.

Each week a Henpower Workshop takes place in Day Care which all the patients are invited to join in with.  The activities have included making fruit banners for the hens and making welcome bunting alongside other ‘hengaging’ activities.
